XALTEM ENABLING TRANSFORMATION

Distinctive capabilities can be one of the greatest sources of an organization’s competitive advantage. “Capability Management Excellence” is an application-based certification program that enables participants with concepts and tools to appreciate holistically the art and science of organizational capability management. The program enables the “how to” of diagnosis, design and deployment of capability building interventions. The target audience of the program consists of Commercial, Learning and HR leaders and those who are in, or wants to take up organizational capability building roles. Stephen Covey said, “an empowered organization is one in which individuals have the knowledge, skills, desire and opportunity to personally succeed in a way that leads to collective organizational success”.

Organizations are complex systems, and hence, it is not an easy task to identify, prioritize and facilitate building of the combination of competence, commitment, and capacity in diverse groups of employees that can enhance and accelerate organizational success. And yet, this is what organization demands from the capability architects. They are expected to identify and anticipate present and emergent capability needs and prepare and execute the strategic capability building plan in an effective and agile manner.

Even for those who are new to the organization in their capability building roles, they are expected to quickly start delivering a few programs that generates desired business outcomes. The temptation is often high in trying out standard and or previously tried approach and programs. However, this may not yield the expected results and with ever increasing limits on organizational resources this may further lead to reduction of much needed top leadership sponsorship. The fast pace of change and high uncertainty in the external environment further complicates the ask.

The “Capability Management Excellence” is perhaps the only program of its kind available in the market. It is designed to build and drive strategic capability building skills in current and aspiring capability practitioners covering the 360 degree dimensions of capability building, including diagnosis, identification and prioritization of capability themes, designing the strategic capability building approach, secure senior leadership alignment and sponsorship, and build implementation success factors and measures as an integral part of the design.

The program design is blended with a combination of live virtual and in-person sessions. The program begins with a pre session diagnostics with Xaltem bespoke tools and templates to evaluate the current landscape of the capability building process in the organizations the participants represent. During the sessions the participants are introduced to the Xaltem’s proprietary capability building framework to understand how to identify key organizational dimensions and features in the context of capability building, thereafter identify prioritized capability themes in a selected function/area of the organization and how to then design the capability building strategic approach.

The participants are required to review, refresh and/or recalibrate the capability building strategic approach and plan for their respective organizations. This is also a mandatory eligibility criterion for earning the certification of successful program completion. The participants can also optionally avail Xaltem’s services in supporting organizational diagnosis, and in designing and implementation of the capability building strategy and interventions. While the format of the program is open workshops, Xaltem can also offer the program with required customization on demand for specific organizations and teams.
